DEEPAK ______ ROBOTS
Do you hate robots?
Are robots constantly messing up your weekend plans?
Have you or a loved one been humiliated in a dance-off by a robot?
Do robots make your blood boil and your clenched fists quake in rage?
Well Deepak has had enough.
And he's ready to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Miraculous Progress is the name of the game
(Click for full size)
Above is the current state of
Orange Anger, or Bacon Lust, a Flash remake of
a Game Maker game from last Summer that I never released.
This new Flash edition is improved in every aspect, I think. It's also coming together really quickly... I think I may wrap it up this weekend. Then it's back to the grind on RunMan (awesome progress has been made), or I figure out what to do with Macro/Funk...
Anyway, look for Orange Anger soon.

Mommy, what's a Funkquilibrium?
My unnamed dancing game now has a name and a purpose. Allow me to introduce
Macrowreckonomic Funkquilibrium.
Coming soon to a Flash-enabled browser near you.

Boom! Again.
(Click to watch a video of WTBGO - available to play on the Games page.)
So When The Bomb Goes Off went live over on
Addicting Games last week, eliciting a strong reaction from a very vocal playerbase. Groovy!
Some people are reporting technical problems and strange glitches. I believe these can be remedied by
GETTING FLASH PLAYER 10. If that doesn't work, uh, I dunno. I'm still new to this Flash stuff so I have no idea what else could be wrong.

SUMMERIN'
(Click to hear "The New Call of the Freaks" by Luis Russell & His Orchestra)
Howdy everybody! I just got done with my last exam. I'm done for the semester! Time to crack a beer and not work on RunMan. But here's some music anyway!
Summer should be a productive time. I'm hanging out in State College (where Penn State is located) doing research and enjoying lots of free time. Expect more info about the dancing game that desperately needs a name - I haven't worked on it in a couple weeks, but it shouldn't take too long to wrap up. Following that I'll be looking for a sponsor, though. Who knows how long that could take!?
I also plan to seriously work on RunMan because I'm tired of it hanging over my head. I mean, it's a pretty great game. I would really prefer to, you know, have people play it. Matt's on board to work too, last time I checked. (I sure hope so.) This is the first thing I want to work on when I get back in town next week.
I also have some other random stuff in the works. I did a group project for a class this semester where we built a game in Java. It's kind of like Space Invaders. I'll get around to posting it soon, since it's pretty hilarious, but now I've got the itch to do a proper shoot-em-up in Flash. So you'll probably hear about that. I'm also dabbling in making some music. No idea what I'd like to do with that, though.
Anyway, as I've said,
certain things call my name. Checking out until Monday!

Best Wednesday Ever?
(Click to Play)
When The Bomb Goes Off is OUT. You can play it by clicking above.
Also, Tom Sennett, Procrastinator, of all things, got posted on
TIGSource while I slept.
And my first two classes were canceled today. So all in all, a pretty solid day.

Tom Sennett: operating on the production possibilities frontier
(Click for full size)
So that random dancing thing I drew last week morphed into a whole new beast over the weekend, and now it's a game. No details or title yet, but I'll probably be able to get it out pretty quickly anyway. Gotta love Flash.
I've also been quietly making progress on RunMan, don't worry. Those keeping score may note that I've already been more productive this year than in the past, uh, four? combined. So keep the faith!

You know you should be more interested in
since it's coming out soon and it's going to be really sweet. I found a sponsor, and in a short time you will be playing it and remarking to yourself, "Groovy!". It's a day I look forward to as much as you.
It is certainly different from anything else I've made. I'm goin' crazy!
But I think it works.

Tom Sennett, Procrastinator
I present to you a poignant piece of autobiography.
Game is about one of my favorite pastimes: doing absolutely nothing. Go for the highest score and press SPACEBAR to finish.
Play itHmmm, back to work on RunMan...

Hey Yo
(Click for full size)
Dream Hoppin' hit 10,000 plays on Kongregate today, thanks in no small part to a
link from Jay is Games on Friday. The crowd it brought in seemed to have nothing but good vibes toward my baby. I think I found my target audience.
Work progresses on When The Bomb Goes Off (above), recently renamed with a more appropriate capital T. It's currently being vetted by playtesters and I am hammering away to make it the finest experience possible.
Spring break next week - good news or bad news for productivity?

Look What I'm Working on
(Click for full size)
This is a new Flash game I'm working on, which right now I'm calling "When the Bomb Goes Off". It's about the last moments before a nuclear holocaust. In writing, that sounds pretty damn morbid, but don't worry, it's actually kind of funny.
I started this project last week, and so far it's going great. I expect to turn it around fairly quickly - it will probably take a little longer than Dream Hoppin', as it's a more complicated game, but not much!
I'm really starting to like Flash as a game making tool. It caters much more to my sensibilities as an artist than as a programmer, and makes the whole process very product-oriented. I'm beginning to question when I'll be able to drag myself back into Game Maker and finish RunMan.
But no worries! This new game will hopefully hit your browser in no time and possibly distract your lustful mind. I have high hopes.
